A day of testing

So my day started off well with completing the first set of reading (Matt 1-6) and starting up my prayer list. Enjoyed a good word for the day (about God honouring us Ps 91), fasted lunch and rested in the Lord ahead of another week.

Then the 'incident' happened and I won't go into too much detail cos I'm still somewhat upset about it all but basically it was actions done with the best of intentions but based on wrong information. Ruffled a few feathers and it really got me down. :( Thankfully, it was our date night and Dave took me out to a nice pub meal to relax but I must admit that I had a glass of red wine with my meal.

Maybe praying for word of knowledge should be top of my prayer list... :(

21 Day Fast - 4 to 24 February 2012

This year, I've decided to embark on the 21 day fast in earnest. Not to do it religiously and to punish myself if I do not follow it to the rule but to set aside time to quiet reflection and to read the Word and to pray and ask of the Lord. It took me about half a week to think and decide what I would like to do in this 21 days, things that will be beneficial to it's purpose and not too restrictive that it will be hard to follow.

What I decided:
  • Pray! (planning on doing a list and praying through the list)
  • Read the Gospels
  • Cut out alcohol and soft drinks
  • Reduce my TV watching to just 2 shows (MKR and Excess Baggage - hehe)
  • Fast 2 meals a week
I've started this blog to write some of my reflections from my time of fasting, any revelations from my time in the word and as a way to track God's goodness in my life and to give him due praise.
